Android Auto allows drivers to project their smartphone interface on to the vehicle display, giving them access to their favourite apps and services directly from their Android™ phone.3 In contrast, vehicles with Google built-in feature Google apps and services integrated directly into the car’s system, enabling access without needing to connect a phone. Each approach offers drivers convenient ways to stay connected—whether through familiar phone projection or a fully integrated in-vehicle experience.
Yes, if the vehicle is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Google built-in. To use Apple CarPlay, select the CarPlay app on the infotainment screen.
Google built-in features are provided at no additional cost. However, the connectivity required for them to operate is part of a complimentary 1-year trial of Mazda Connected Services, starting from the vehicle’s warranty start date.
After the trial period expires, continued access to features with Google built-in requires enrollment in a paid Mazda Connected Services plan that supports Google built-in. Alternatively, you can tether your personal mobile device to enable Google built-in functionality using your own data plan.
