2020 Car Guide
After winning first prize at the 2019 Red Dot Awards, the 2020 Mazda3 just earned the highest distinction from the 2020 Car Guide that has named it Best New Car of the Year.
This award is a testament to the dedication of our artisans and engineers, who refuse to be satisfied with the status quo. At Mazda, we never do things just because that’s how they’ve always been done. That’s why the new Mazda3 got a full redesign, right down to the smallest detail.
“The new-generation Mazda3 has an even more chic and sexy look,” says Guillaume Rivard from the Car Guide team. “We were wondering how the designers could raise the bar, but they surprised us with an entry-level compact car that has the look of a luxury car.”
The Mazda3 interior is based on a deep understanding of human behaviour and movement, and was designed to make the driving experience as intuitive as possible. The driver’s seat is perfectly positioned with the controls within easy reach. It’s a stimulating and effortless driving experience that creates a unique connection between the driver and the car.
According to the Car Guide team, “… the experience of refinement continues inside. The new 2020 Mazda3 is more sophisticated, more attractive and far more quiet than the previous model, not to mention other sedans in the category.”
And to provide an enhanced driving experience that sets it apart from other cars on the market, the Mazda3 is available for the first time in its history with i-Active all-wheel drive. An engineering masterpiece that helps to predict traction loss by actively monitoring the road conditions.
“It’s once you’re out on the road that the Mazda3 forces you to ask yourself, ‘Do I really need an SUV?’” says the Car Guide journalist. “The 2.5 litre engine—the bigger of the two—is the star here with 186 horsepower and 186 pounds-feet of torque, the top in its category and a sure-fire way to achieve quick acceleration.”
It’s hard to overstate what a widely respected reference the Car Guide is in the industry. This is the 22nd award that the Car Guide has given to Mazda in the last five years.
