2 Million Sold
2,000,000 Mazdas sold in Canada is something to celebrate!
Mazda prides itself on building distinctive automobiles that speak to the needs of the individual driver. So, when we realized we were about to sell our two millionth vehicle in Canada, we were more than delighted.
Reason enough to celebrate this occasion by rallying around one lucky customer in appreciation of his discriminating taste in fine automobiles. Bruno-Pierre Gougeon purchased his 2016 Mazda3 – one of our best-selling vehicles ever – on March 2nd from Albi le Géant Mazda – one of our largest volume dealers, based in Mascouche, Quebec. Representatives from Mazda Canada and key dealership personnel joined together to throw Bruno the party he never expected in his honour. Mr. Gougeon was greeted with more than a surprise as he was presented with the waiving of two years’ worth of payments together with two years’ worth of complimentary maintenance, making him one of the happiest members of the extended Mazda family. He never expected, upon arriving to pick up his car, that the moment would be immortalized. You’ll see, from the footage below that he’s initially shy from all the attention, acknowledging – above all – that he was proud of the choice he’d made with his new Mazda3.
This 2 millionth Mazda sold marks a major milestone for Mazda as well. When we entered the Canadian marketplace in 1968, sales were just shy of a thousand vehicles. As more and more models were added to our lineup, sales accelerated and we surpassed 10 thousand vehicles sold within three years. By 1991, sales had reached 50,000 units, and Mazda’s most popular vehicle was our B-Series Truck.
Mazda Canada reached the 1 Millionth vehicle sold in September 2002 – and it had taken 34 years to do so. Yet, as news spread of Mazda’s many positive attributes, driver-friendly focus and audience accolades, this number was doubled in less than half that time. The competitive strength of our brand and resulting strong brand presence within the Canadian market has only expedited sales as our various attributes have begun to register with Canadian drivers. From our dynamic handling to our fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology; our commitment to KODO design with its principles of exterior styling to our overall dedication to satisfying the deep needs of our drivers, Mazda is proud of our progress. Further, we’re proud of the fact that we now have 2 million spokespeople singing the praises of what we do and how well we do it.
