

Do not perform shift operations with the accelerator pedal depressed.
Otherwise, the vehicle will suddenly accelerate which could lead to an accident. Perform shift operations with the brake pedal firmly depressed and the vehicle completely stopped.
After stopping the vehicle, check the selector lever position before re-accelerating.
If the vehicle were to move unexpectedly, it could lead to an accident.
After stopping the vehicle, make sure that you are aware of the selector lever position before re-accelerating.
Do not allow the vehicle to move in reverse on an upslope while the selector lever is in the D position, or move forward on a downslope while the selector lever is in the R position.
Otherwise, the engine will stop, causing the loss of the power brake and power steering functions, and make it difficult to control the vehicle which could result in an accident.
Perform shift operations appropriately in accordance with the vehicle moving forward or rearward.
When parking the vehicle, shift the selector lever to the P position and apply the parking brake.
Otherwise, the vehicle may move unexpectedly and result in an accident.
When parking, after the vehicle has come to a complete stop, shift the selector lever to the P position, apply the parking brake, and do not leave the engine running.
When visually checking at the rear of the vehicle while reversing the vehicle, your body twists around to the rear. Be careful and make sure that the brake pedal can be firmly depressed.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal at the same time, or rev the transmission with the selector lever in the forward drive position while the vehicle is stopped on an upslope. The transmission could overheat and lead to damage.
